Each participant pays for their own travel and accommodations. (approximately $2500.00 /person). Many people have used their vacation time from work, while others have retired from their vocation and schedule the participation with enthusiasm.
Team members work at fundraising by sharing the purpose of their trip with their friends, family and congregations. After the first trip to Nicaragua many are so impacted by seeing the Holy Spirit in action that they decide that they are going back the following year before they have returned home from their first trip. Their stories, pictures and excitement is contagious and they often set to work sharing their experiences with others as soon as they can.
Over the years we have had team members join the team from all across Canada. Starting from the East we have a regular team member from St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Halifax- Nova Scotia, team members from; Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waterloo- Ontario, St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Elmira- Ontario, Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Hamilton- Ontario, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Burlington- Ontario, Peace Lutheran Church in Tillsonburg- Ontario, Faith Lutheran Church in London- Ontario, Christ Lutheran Church in Sarnia- Ontario, Immanuel Lutheran Church in Winnipeg- Manitoba, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Regina Saskatchewan, King of Kings Lutheran Church in Spruce View- Alberta, St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Stony Plain- Alberta, Peace Lutheran Church in Spruce Grove- Alberta, and Trinity Lutheran Church- Fort McMurray Alberta.
